Colyer represents employers in labor and employment disputes before state, federal, and appellate courts. Her litigation experience includes defending employers against alleged violations of Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA, Section 1981 and Section 1983 of the Civil Rights Act, wage and hour claims, and other contractual disputes. Colyer also provides clients advice and counsel related to business compliance matters and contract negotiations.
Colyer received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minor in Public Policy, summa cum laude, from the Georgia Institute of Technology. As an undergrad, Colyer served on the Executive Board of “Tech the Halls” which partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta to organize year-long student mentorship and volunteerism. Colyer also served as a Committee Member for various organizations including Relay for Life, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Partnership Against Domestic Violence in Decatur, Georgia.
Colyer earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Georgia State University College of Law. During law school, Colyer served as a legal intern with the HeLP Legal Services Clinic and as a Litigation Associate in the Advocacy Program. She also enjoyed volunteering with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society.
In her free time, Colyer enjoys cooking, gardening, fitness classes with friends, and time with her family.
