A skilled litigator and an effective problem solver, Robert puts his clients’ business concerns first when working to achieve the best possible outcome. Robert represents companies in employment disputes and litigation matters, involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, tort, and other federal and state law claims, and including class and collective actions. He also litigates business torts, contract disputes, and consumer class actions.
Robert has successfully represented employers in federal and state court in cases alleging violations of Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act, among others. He has also prosecuted and defended claims for trade secret misappropriation, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and other torts in the employment context. Proficient in all aspects of civil litigation, he has successfully resolved cases on motions to dismiss and for summary judgment, obtained favorable rulings in appeals, and participated in multiple jury trials and arbitrations. Outside of litigation, Robert has successfully represented employers before government agencies, and he routinely advises clients on internal investigations, audits, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws covering employment and business practices.
Throughout his career, Robert has represented individuals and businesses across the spectrum of industry in employment, commercial, and real estate litigation matters. He also has defended municipalities and local government entities against a variety of civil rights, constitutional, statutory, and tort claims. He puts this broad and extensive experience to work when counseling his clients.
Robert grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He earned his bachelor’s degrees, magna cum laude, from the Honors College at the College of Charleston in Political Science and Historic Preservation and Community Planning. He then earned his juris doctor, summa cum laude, from Georgia State University College of Law. There, he served as the Research Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review and participated in Georgia State Law’s Moot Court Board. He was inducted into the Order of the Coif and the Logan E. Bleckley Inn of Court. After law school, Robert completed a clerkship as a judicial staff attorney in the Superior Court of Cobb County, Georgia. Before joining the firm, he practiced with an AmLaw 100 firm and a boutique litigation firm in Atlanta.
