Amy Doyle is an attorney in the Firm’s Labor and Employment practice group in Sacramento, California. Amy has been advising and defending employers for two decades, primarily in the California state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies. Amy represents clients through all aspects of employment related disputes, up through and including administrative hearings, jury trials and appeal. Amy’s practice includes workplace investigations, wage and hour issues, class actions, single plaintiff claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, and failure to engage in the interactive process. She routinely defends employers in actions filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the California Civil Rights Department (CRD), the California State Personnel Board and Office of Administrative Hearings. Amy also advises employers on policies and compliance including leaves of absences under the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the California Family Rights Act.
Prior to joining MHS, Amy served as the Assistant Chief Counsel for the California Department of Social Services overseeing labor and employment issues, as well as almost a decade with the California Department of Justice as a Deputy Attorney General where she was involved in training employers, various administrative hearings, jury trials and appeals and complex workplace investigations.
In her college days, you would find her cheering on the sidelines as a spirit squad member for Washington State University before transferring to Sacramento State University where she served as a sports reporter for the school paper and local news stations. She now spends time with her husband and three boys, watching football and catching the regular hot yoga class.
