Maya S. Marshall is an attorney in the Firm’s Labor & Employment practice group. Maya takes a proactive and detail-oriented approach when assisting employers with all matters in employment law and litigation. Her prior experience in insurance defense assists her with authentically establishing lasting relationships with her clients that lead to achieving underlying objectives and goals.
Maya grew up in Marietta, Georgia. She earned her J.D. from University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, where she served as a senior staffer on the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture & Natural Resource Law, vice president of StreetLaw, a member of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Student Advisory Board, and a member of the Black Law Student Association. During this time, she was awarded the Lyman T. Johnson Torch Bearer Award and selected as the Class of 2021 recipient of the Rosenberg College of Law Faculty Cup Award. Prior to receiving her J.D., Maya obtained her B.S. from Boston University, where she was a NCAA Division I student-athlete on the women’s track and field team.
In her spare time, Maya enjoys volunteering with children, traveling, hiking, and spending time with loved ones.
