Melissa is an attorney in the Firm’s Carlsbad office, where she assists employers in all aspects of employment law.
Melissa received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, graduating with a concentration in business and corporate law. As a part-time student working full-time during her first year, she earned the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and successfully transferred into USD’s full-time program. She also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Biotechnology Law and competed on the Transactional Law Team in the Duke Interscholastic Transactional Law Competition.
Before beginning her legal career, Melissa served six years in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologic technician, deploying twice to the Persian Gulf. Following her service, she graduated cum laude from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a minor in Psychology. She also gained extensive experience in corporate development, finance, and government.
Melissa recently relocated to San Diego from the Washington, D.C. area and now lives in Otay Ranch with her husband and their two cats, Levi and Theodore. In her spare time, she enjoys international travel, discovering new podcasts, attending concerts, and exploring the many events around her new home of San Diego.
