About Janine

Janine Braxton is a Senior Partner in the Firm’s California Labor & Employment Practice Group. She advises and represents employers in a broad range of employment matters before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. With a practice emphasis on class action wage and hour defense, including claims brought under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), Janine regularly defends employers in complex employment litigation and against individual claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and other alleged violations of California and federal employment laws. Janine routinely represents employers in matters before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the California Civil Rights Department (CRD), and the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).

In addition to her litigation practice, Janine partners with employers to develop, implement, and audit workplace policies and practices, providing practical, proactive guidance to minimize legal risk and maintain compliance with evolving federal and California employment laws. She serves as a trusted advisor to clients on day-to-day employment issues, helping them navigate complex workplace challenges with confidence.

Janine is a sought-after speaker and panelist at statewide legal conferences, bar association programs, and law school events, where she shares her insights of California employment law and emerging workplace issues with attorneys, employers, HR practitioners, and other legal professionals.

Prior to focusing exclusively on management-side labor and employment law, Janine served as a workplace investigator for a premier workplace investigations firm. There, she gained extensive experience conducting complex and highly sensitive workplace investigations. She brings that unique perspective to her current practice, helping clients effectively manage workplace issues before they become litigation and strengthening there position when disputes arise.
