Nicole is an associate in the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group in our Southern California office. She represents clients in all aspects of labor and employment law, including counseling and litigation involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, employee discipline, employee classification issues and state and federal wage and hour claims. She has experience in law and motion practice, discovery, settlement negotiations, mediations and settlement conferences.
Prior to joining Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon LLP’s Southern California office, Nicole represented public-sector clients in various civil litigation matters including insurance defense, construction defect, construction risk, personal injury, real property liability, and general liability claims.
Nicole graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California. During law school, Nicole was recognized for her academic achievements with placements on the Dean’s List and received the Academic Merit Scholarship and Diversity Merit Scholarship. While in law school, she was awarded with the American-Jurisprudence Award for obtaining the highest grade in STEPPS – Professional Responsibility, Professional Skills, Prevention & Problem Solving & Advance Legal Writing and Products Liability. She also served as Executive Director of Notes and Comments for California Western Law Review and President of the Black Law Student Association. She worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable William McCurine Jr. [ret.], United States Magistrate Judge U.S. District Court, Southern District of California, San Diego, California. Nicole is actively involved in mentoring programs offered through California Western School of Law and various bar associations.
